Amazon is constantly improving its intelligent personal assistant Alexa, connecting it with various house appliances, so that you can remotely do just about anything. However, now they’ve taken it a step further. Their latest invention is the so-called “Alexa Mobile Accessory Kit” that will let you control it on the go. Namely, this piece of software allows you to integrate Alexa into your wireless headphones and smartwatches so you can use it wherever you want. The kit will be coming later this year and, while it’s not perfect, it’s a big step forward in the industry. It might just give Amazon the edge over other similar products on the market.
Alexa Voice Control
Keep in mind, though, that the voice-controlled actions of Alexa aren’t something new. Last August, Amazon released AVS Device SDK that let you connect it with numerous devices. However, the Mobile Accessory Kit is much simpler and uses Bluetooth to communicate to other devices. There’s no need for complicated installations or hours of coding. All you need to do is download the Alexa mobile app and you’re good to go.
Last month, Google also introduced its SDK support for their Google Assistant, which may have prompted Amazon to speed up their new mobile kit and be one step ahead of Google. For now, they’re winning the race, but there’s no doubt that Google will catch up soon.
