Doctor Strange has been an Avenger, a Defender, and even a Secret Defender! But his most sacred and calling is as Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme, a title that only one man or woman can hold…until now! The legendary Merlin has assembled several Sorcerer Supremes from across time and space, including a young version of the Ancient One and the present day incarnation of Strange, who is weaker than ever thanks to the recent assault on magic itself.

Merlin brought the makeshift team of sorcerers together to face an enemy called the Forgotten. But after Merlin’s apparent death, the team discovered that the Forgotten is the collective form of Merlin’s prisoners, who were locked away for using dark magic. In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme # 4, the spotlight turns to the Conjuror, as she recalls her confrontation with Merlin in a flashback while Strange suspects that she knows more about the Forgotten than he previously guessed.

Writer Robbie Thompson and artist Javier Rodriguez are the primary creators for Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme # 4. Here’s Marvel’s description for the issue.

“The Sorcerers are losing the battle to the Unforgotten. The strongest among them is dead. Doctor Strange is weaker than ever. Can DEMON RIDER, the Ghost Rider of the 1800s turn the tide? Or THE CONJUROR?! Or perhaps the young man who will become the Ancient One? The climax of the first arc is here and not everyone will make it home.”

Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme # 4 will be released on Wednesday, January 11 in comic stores everywhere.
