Exclusive Preview | Marvel’s ‘Astonishing X-Men’ # 2

Marvel's mutant heroes race to the Astral Plane to battle an old enemy, but the war may already be over in 'Astonishing X-Men' # 2!

The Shadow King is back! Years ago, the X-Men thought that they had defeated the Shadow King once and for all. But now, he’s back and rapidly regaining his power. Every moment counts, and as each second passes his influence on the world spreads like a poison. He very nearly took the mind of Psylocke, the telepathic X-Men member who desperately reached out to her former teammates for help.

Now, Rogue, Gambit, Bishop, Archangel, Old Man Logan, Beast and Fantomex have assembled in the pages of Astonishing X-Men, to save the world once again. Although we have our doubts about Beast’s true identity, Psylocke sent the team on a potential suicide mission inside of the Astral Plane to stop the Shadow King. But in CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for Astonishing X-Men # 2, the team seems to have forgotten where they are and what they were trying to accomplish. Along the way, a dead friend reappears and the Death of Wolverine is referenced alongside a look back at X-Men history.
