Alexandra Shipp is an American actress and singer. She is most famous for playing the role of KT Rush on the series "House of Anubis" as well as portraying Aaliyah in the biopic "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B" on the Lifetime network.
Alexandra Shipp was born on July 16, 1991 in Phoenix, Arizona. Like most aspiring actresses, she knew she wanted to make a living out of the craft from the time she was very young. In fact, by the time she was just 17, she decided she had waited long enough and moved to Los Angeles in order to properly pursue her dream. Although it took some time, she was finally able to land her first role as Valentina in 2009's "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel."
Two years later, Alexandra was fortunate enough to land the one-off role of Ashley in an episode of ABC Family's "Switched at Birth." While the role itself may not have been extremely significant, it was enough to garner Alexandra some attention, and by 2012, she was again cast as a one-time character named Aleese on Nickelodeon's "Victorious."
Although her career was still a bit slow-going, by 2013, things turned around in a big way for Alexandra. Along with playing a recurring character named Abby Martin on the series "Awkward.," she had finally booked a role that could be considered her big break in the form of KT Rush on the Nickelodeon teen drama/mystery series "House of Anubis." Shot in Belgium, America, and England, the role proved challenging, yet satisfying, in more ways than one, while also granting Alexandra the exposure she needed to land more key roles. Sure enough, in 2014 she was again given a potentially career changing role in the Lifetime film "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B," where she would portray the title role of the deceased R&B star.
