Jessica Parker Kennedy is a Canadian television and film actress. She is best known as Melissa from The CW series, "The Secret Circle," but has also played roles in films such as "50/50" and "In Time."
Jessica Parker Kennedy was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on October 3, 1984. By the age of 7, she had already began acting in local theater productions while also attending French immersion school throughout high school. Upon graduation, she kept things local after being accepted to Mount Royal College, which happened to be located in her hometown of Calgary. This is not to say she never left home, however, as she did her fair share of traveling while growing up.
In 2006, Jessica moved to Vancouver, which happened to coincide with landing her very first professional acting role as Lucy the Elf in the TV movie "Santa Baby." From there, she was able to take on a number of television roles on series such as "Kaya," "Fear Itself," and "Soul" before reprising her original role as Lucy the Elf in "Santa Baby 2: Christmas Maybe" in 2009. Of course, from there, her exposure only increased as she began landing more high profile roles on series such as "V," "Smallville," and "Lie to Me."
Of course, Jessica's biggest year as far as her acting career was concerned came in 2011, when she was not only cast in a lead role on "The Secret Circle," but also in two prominent feature films, "50/50" and "In Time." From there, she was cast in a recurring capacity on The CW's "90210" the following year, followed by another lead role as the character of Max on Starz "Black Sails" in 2014. On the role of Max, Jessica has been quoted as saying "I used to think being a pirate was a really cool, sexy thing. It's not. It's terrifying."
