Laura Whitmore is an Irish television personality. She is most famous as a presenter on MTV Europe, RTE, and "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW!" on ITV2.
Believe it or not, Laura Whitmore is not exactly a household name here in the U.S. This is mostly due to the fact that her fame has simply not transcended the border between here and Europe yet, but give it time. Laura was born in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, and grew up with a keen eye for journalism. After earning her degree from Dublin City University, she began working as a researcher for Ireland's national radio station, Newstalk.
Of course, with this being a sort of entry-ever position, Laura decided it would be good to branch out and explore other opportunities, which she did by applying for the MySpace/MTV Pick Me competition at the time. After beating out over 3000 potential winners, she was granted a MTV VJ role on the international music channel, which was the first step towards kicking her journalism career into high gear.
Soon enough, Laura proved herself a legitimately capable VJ after tackling the MTV Movie Awards, and was granted a permanent position with the network. Before long, she was hosting all sorts of events, from the Brits to replacing Caroline Flack as a presenter on "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW!" The sky certainly seems to be the limit for the budding young television star, and with offers continuing to come in from the likes of BBC and even prestigious modeling companies such as London's Select Models, the future seems brighter than ever.
