Merritt Patterson is a Canadian model-turned-actress probably best known for her roles on "Supernatural" and "Percy Jackson: Lightning Thief." She recently scored a series regular role on the ABC Family series "Ravenswood."
Merritt Patterson began dancing competitively when she was 11 and danced throughout high school. She also modeled and was active in theatre.

In 2006, Merritt Patterson won the Canadian Herbal Essences’ Teen Model Search, beating out 10,000 other girls. She got into acting through modeling. “After working a few jobs I tried to find modeling representation and had little luck due to lack of height. Acting seemed like the next best thing. I have always been involved with dance and music. Acting was the one thing I hadn’t tried yet. Turned out to be what I love most!”

Her first project was an UNO commercial. “It was all green screen, which was really foreign and interesting. I think I was 15 years old.”
Her first television role was on the ABC Family show “Kyle XY.” Other roles followed, including parts on “Percy Jackson: The Lighting Thief,” “The Hole,” and “Supernatural,” among others.
The best advice she heard about acting was “not take anything too personally. There’s a lot of rejection and you can only go so far when preparing for a role. Sometimes you’re just not the right look or the right person for a job.”
Merritt Patterson is currently single and splits her time between Los Angeles and Vancouver.
