Steve Tilbury and a few of his friends ate mushrooms at his house before his friends left and Tilbury passed out.
Shortly after, the 17-year-old woke up and said it felt like he was stuck in a nightmare and that he couldn’t get out of his house. The most logical solution for the predicament that the teen could come up with was to shoot himself in the face. Conveniently enough, his parents had a .22-caliber rifle in their bedroom, which the teen took into his room and then proceeded to fire into his forehead.
Surprisingly, this method didn’t exactly wake Tilbury up from his bad dream. When the attempt failed, Tilbury attempted to clean up the blood he got on the carpet, wrapped his head in some bandages, made his way outside of the house that he was convinced he couldn’t exit, and hitched a ride to the hospital.
The bullet was successfully removed from Tilbury’s forehead and when Tilbury was asked if he wanted to kill himself, he responded, “No, I just wanted to wake up from the bad nightmare. I am happy and I love my life.”
