There's no shortage of incredible bands and artists sweeping through Canada in the months ahead, and some of their opening acts are just as impressive. From artists who gained notoriety on television to rising up-and-comers along with a number of musical mainstays, here the top 10 opening acts in Canada this summer.
Death Valley Driver (for Metallica)
While their official website indicates that their name may have been derived from the popular wrestling move, this heavy metal band is climbing their way up the ranks in their respective genre.
Danny Gokey (for Taylor Swift)
Gokey of "American Idol" fame is following America's sweetheart Taylor Swift throughout her North American tour. His single "Second Hand Heart" was also recently released.
Matthew Morrison and Neverest (for NKOTB and BSB)
Morrison from the musical show "Glee" as well as Neverest are both opening for a number of New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys' shows – it's a dream come true for teen idols young and old.
Doughboys and Fucked Up (for Foo Fighters)
These two Canadian bands have both achieved success – for the Doughboys it started in the 1980s with their punk music and now they've reunited to join the Foo Fighters on tour, while Fucked Up hails from Toronto and was the recipient of the Polaris Prize back in 2009.
The Band Perry (for Keith Urban)
Receiving two Country Music Awards last week, the breakout country band of the year will open for Reba McEntire this fall after wrapping things up with Keith Urban.
Interpol, Arcade Fire (for U2)
Interpol was a part of the Montreal and Toronto U2 360 shows, while Fredericton, New Brunswick will be treated to Montreal's own Arcade Fire at the end of the month.
Keri Hilson (for Lil' Wayne)
Hilson's first album "In a Perfect World" was released in '09, followed by 2010's "No Boys Allowed" as well as nominations for AMAs and BET Awards. She has collaborated and already toured with friend Lil' Wayne.
My Chemical Romance (for Blink-182)
This American band already has four albums and slews of awards under their belt – given their musical clout and staying power, being on a bill with Blink-182 makes for an incredible evening of music.
Mudhoney (for Pearl Jam)
This Seattle-born act has been on the music scene since 1988 – ten albums later and they're opening for one of the most iconic alternative bands around, Pearl Jam, as they embark on their 20th anniversary tour.
Uncle Kracker (for Kenny Chesney)
A unique blend of country, rock and rap, Uncle Kracker has had a total of four successful albums so far – he has plans on releasing "Cigarettes and One Night Stands" later this year after his tour with Kenny Chesney.
