Listen: Florence & The Machine’s New Song for ‘The Great Gatsby’ Soundtrack

Florence and her machine deliver a belting contribution to Baz Luhrmann's upcoming film.

So, this is good. 

The soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming movie The Great Gatsby is shaping up pretty nicely, thanks in no small part to the phonebook of executive producer Jay-Z, and this contribution from Florence & The Machine is further proof that we’ve got a pretty eclectic soundtrack on our hands.

Although Beyonce and Andre 3000 might have stolen the headlines with their cover of Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’, Florence deserves some credit for ‘Over The Love’, an original track that has actually taken note of the film’s source material. Seemingly wrote from the perspective of Gatsby’s lifelong crush Daisy Buchanan, the song is littered with reference to F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel. 

The soundtrack is set to also feature contributions from the likes of Jack White, The XX and, erm, So there that is.
