Kicking off his Ninja Nation Tour, Datsik gets in the zone with a look at his favorite ninja films.

Bass producer Datsik is hitting the road in 2015 in support of his new EP Down 4 My Ninjas, out now via his own imprint Firepower Records. His Ninja Nation Tour is now set to make additional stops throughout 50 + cities across North America, and with a theme based on Datsik’s obsession with ninjas and all things martial arts, the tour is a call to arms for his fans across the continent—whom he calls his Ninja Squad–to experience Datsik’s homage to hip-hop influence on American dubstep.

In keeping with the Down 4 My Ninjas spirit (listen to the EP here) Datsik compiled a list of the Top 5 ninja films that drove his passion for martial arts. Check ’em out below, with selection explanations courtesy of Datsik, exclusively on Crave:

Mortal Kombat This was the first one of the first ‘ninja’ style movies that I saw when I was young.. I was also obsessed with the video games while growing up. while it’s not directly ninja related, I think its got enough ninja flair to make this list.

Ninja Assasin – This one is hella gory and filled with mad skills and jet black ninjas flooding the street. right up my alley!

NinjaThis guy is insane, his skills set a benchmark of where I wanna be at with making music.. total mastery of his craft!

Ninja II – Shadow of a Tear – Don’t poke a ninja with a stick, cuz if you do you will get murked. This is what happens when u light ninja skills on fire.

Basilisk – (Anime Series) One of the first animes I got into.. 2 insane ninja clans head to head. Can’t get much sicker in my opinion. This one is a must for anyone who likes to see how hardcore ninjas can get!

The Ninja Nation tour will also feature the Vortex 3.0–the third issue of Datsik’s psychedelic stage set specially upgraded for the Ninja Squad experience. Special guests ETC! ETC!, Kennedy Jones, Trolley Snatcha, Truth, Barely Alive, Bear Grillz, Fox Stevenson and Twine will join Datsik on select dates throughout the tour. In addition Loudpvck will hit the stage to support on opening night in Boston on January 22, Washington, DC on February 6 and in New York City on January 24.

Fans are encouraged to join Datsik’s Ninja Squad at datsikninjas.com where they can obtain a limited number of specially priced $20 tickets to the Ninja Nation Tour and win special prizes including an exclusive Datsik sub pac, a package from Rockstar Energy and DATSIK merch, as well as be privy to special events around the shows.
