Bay Area rapper The Jacka was reportedly killed in a shooting in East Oakland Monday night. The rapper, real name Dominic Newton, was shot on MacArthur Boulevard by 94th Avenue in Oakland. Shots were heard around 8:15 p.m.
No suspects have been arrested at publishing time.
The 37-year-old Pittsburgh native began his rap career in the ’90s as a member of Mob Figaz, before leaving to pursue a solo career. The underground artist released collaborative LP Highway Robbery with rapper Freeway last year.
