Amnesia Rockfest, taking place this summer in Montebello, QC, Slayer, Rancid, and The Offspring will be joining Snoop Dogg, Slayer, the Deftones, System of a Down, Tenacious D, The Offspring, and the Pixies from June 18-21.
“The Deftones are one of my favourite bands ever and they are going to play one of their best albums ever,” said Amnesia Rockfest executive director Alex Martel to the Ottawa Citizen, referring to the Deftones’ 1997 effort Around the Fur. “When I was 13, I used to be into a bunch of bands, but lots of them I grew out of – not the Deftones. They keep releasing great albums.
“I’m also a huge Ministry fan and they will be playing with Skinny Puppy for the first time since 1988.”
“Several changes will be announced in March concerning transportation, parking and camping in order to accommodate the growing number of festival-goers each year,” the festival said in a media release (CBC News). In years past attendees complained about the infrastructure, saying it wasn’t able to support the huge crowds that turned out for the event. “This will include new public transportation options being offered, as well as a new VIP campground and a campground for RV’s and trailers.”
Tickets for general admission will go on sale on Monday and can be purchased here.
