Steve McNiven Delivers 'Fear Itself' Cover

Late last year, Marvel revealed "Fear Itself," it’s latest crossover event miniseries by writer, Matt Fraction and artist, Stuart Immonen. According to the original announcement, the storyline involves the God of Fear coming to decimate the Marvel Universe.

Earlier today, Marvel released the first issue’s cover by Steve McNiven, which seems reminiscent of his iconic Civil War covers. It also looks like Thor is in a bit of trouble there…

Marvel also released the solicitation text for the first issue.

Prepare to fear tomorrow as comic luminaries Matt Fraction and Stuart Immonen deliver the most anticipated event of 2011, kicking off in a colossal 56 page first issue! Can their loved ones and teammates escape from under the boot heel of Sin, the new Red Skull? And just what secret do her perverse plans share with the endless abyss beneath the Rainbow Bridge? Extinguish all hope because, this April, the Marvel Universe changes forever, only in Fear Itself #1 (of 7)!

Fear Itself #1 will invade comic book shops on April 04, 2011.
