Next Silent Hill Gets Launch Window, New Screens

Konami has announced that the next Silent Hill game, named Silent Hill: Downpour, will release this autumn on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Instead of the standard father looking for his lost child in the creepy town of Silent Hill, Downpour’s protagonist is a convict who gets stranded in Silent Hill after his prison transport bus crashes. Konami is saying Downpour has a “completely original storyline.” How true that is remains to be seen. The only other details we know about Silent Hill: Downpour are that the game is massive in size, there will be a lack of hospitals and schools in town (yay!), and water plays an important role in the story.

Along with the news of a release window, Konami has sent over some fresh screenshots of Downpour that we wish to share with you. These show off two of the environments in the game: The Diner and The Devil’s Pit. The latter does not sound…pleasant.
