We never stop playing video games. That’s a fact. Even after we call it quits for the week we still look forward to getting home and continuing our digital conquests. It’s our life blood. So we thought it would be fun to share with everyone what our gaming intentions are for the weekend so you guys can get a sense of what we're playing and enjoying on a weekly, non-formal basis. Yes, this concept isn't new to the internet. But hey, we kind of want to join in on the fun. Can you blame us for that? So without further ado, here’s what we’re playing this weekend that will forfeit any semblance of rest…
Also, since we've caught up with the rest of the internet and now feature a comment section, sound off below to let us know what your gaming plans are this weekend.
Alex Keen: I think I can officially say that my time spent with Knights Contract has come to an end. I reached a level where the flaws of the gameplay became too much and I just don’t feel like wasting any more minutes of my precious life on this game. Maybe I will scrounge around for some easy achievements… but even that pains me.
What’s left to play? Well, I’m hoping to spend some good time with The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile. I had a blast with the original Dishwasher game and this promises more. The original was oozing with atmosphere and challenged me quite a bit. I had some issues with the first game’s control but I really do hope they’ve taken good care of that concern.
Erik Norris: This weekend is kind of up in the air as far as gaming is concerned. I still desire to play Shift 2: Unleashed, but I’m honestly not sure how much time I’ll be devoting to it. Joey and I have plans to once again meet up and record the next edition of Watch Us Play (which you should be watching), but we’re not entirely sure what’s on tap. We have Tiger Woods 12, so that’s a possibility. Maybe something will be waiting on either of our doorsteps later today that we can use for an upcoming episode of the show.
Other than that, maybe I’ll revisit Crysis 2 for some nanosuit-enhanced multiplayer. I’ve been away from that game ever since I reviewed it. It’s not that I lost interest, it’s just that I’ve had too much on my plate this last week. We did relaunch after all, which took away a lot of my free time to buckle down and game. I also have Mafia II and LittleBigPlanet 2 sitting on my shelf unopened. I bought them both roughly three months ago. This is my plight: too. many. video games. Pity me!
Finally, and because it’s a bad joke at this point, Dragon Age 2 mayhaps? We’ll see, I guess. I’m going to blame Joey for bitching about the game to me. He’s sullied the experience. Way to go, jerk.
Mike White: Forget Erik, pity this guy. I started a new job last week (on top of my other part time job, bringing the total number to three) which requires me to not only be there Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 11:00pm, but also has me crashing at my parent's house. No, they don’t have a basement and I don’t “dwell” there. What this means is I have to essentially pack all of my weekend gaming into Friday nights before heading down to the beach.
Joey and a few friends of ours have been meticulously pimping out our Minecraft world and our latest project is one of my favorites. The finishing touch should be applied tonight on our massive Pokeball in the sky. I might even be able to record some of it and have it up for another addition of “Let Us Craft.”
Other than that, you can find me on the Black Prophecy beta where I’m flexing my achievement for 1-hour played. Yes, they actually count that as an achievement. Black Prophecy is a sci-fi space combat/sim currently in development by Reakktor Media. My PC gaming started with the original Wing Commander so I have an inherent affinity for games in the genre. If you ever played/loved the Wing Commander series, Starlancer, Freelancer, Star Wars: Tie Fighter, Freespace, etc. you should feel right at home with this game.
Beyond that, it’s more Minecraft and 3DS action. I’m working the dayjob every day this weekend, so my portable will be getting more use than it normally would. Super Monkey Ball, love it, will be played.
