Peter Jackson just posted the first videolog from the set of The Hobbit. Watch the video below for a great little tour of the J.R.R. Tolkien adaptation's make-up, costume and prop departments, along with a few cutting jibes from Sir Ian McKellan and on-stage rehearsals with Martin Freeman and the rest of the dwarven cast. Also, be on the lookout for a look at the new sound stage for Rivendel, and a trip to the goblin tunnels.
But our favorite part is when Jackson admits he didn't initially want to go back into directing The Hobbit, and explains why he's now glad he did. It'll bring a tear to your eye. We look forward to lots more of these in the years to come.
