Well, we've been lamenting the oncoming "American Panther" concept, as it seems to continue the unfortunate sell-out of everything cool about T'Challa, but with this new look at David Liss' collaboration with Francesco Francavilla to tie in with Fear Itself, there might be an acceptable incarnation of this idea if it's part and parcel with some kind of fear-induced dream of the former king of Wakanda.
The first look we get at him here seems to be in a nightmare involving the Hatemonger, who was originally a clone of Hitler. If the only version of the American Panther is what we see in T'Challa's hallucinations, given his current trials and tribulations trying to find himself in New York City, that… that might actually work.
But if he actually puts on that Evel Knievel suit and fights crime, game's over, sir.
