I guess we all should have seen this one coming. With Microsoft’s obsession with the Kinect, it was inevitable that the upcoming Halo: Combat Evolved HD remake would have support for the device jammed down its throat. This has now been confirmed by Microsoft Game Studios boss Phill Spencer, who recently chatted about Kinect's future with GameSpot.

“Core focus for us in our press briefing this year with Kinect actually came from two sides,” said Spencer. “As a first-party, we believe that Kinect will be important to all genres of games, be it racing games with Forza, combat games like Ryse. Even games like Halo Anniversary has Kinect integration.”

Microsoft has made it abundantly clear that all future core title, especially first-party titles, will support Kinect in some fashion. Whether it feels shoe-horned or not, the device will be supported to justify Microsoft’s huge stake in the motion control peripheral. How Microsoft plans to integrate the Kinect with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary remains to be seen, however.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was announced at E3 this year during Microsoft’s press conference. The game is set to launch on November 15, 2011, marking the 10-year anniversary of the Halo franchise.
