It’s been a while since we last played a Tribes game. To be precise, the last Tribes title to hit the market was the less-than-stellar Tribes: Vengeance in 2004. Seven years is far too long without digitally skiing and jetpacking. That’s why Hi-Rez Studios is preparing a new Tribes game that will take advantage of the industry’s trending Free-to-Play model.

Just the other day, Hi-Rez released the first trailer for Tribes: Ascend, which got us all hot and bothered. Graphically, the game looks gorgeous, and that's saying a lot considering it’s still in beta. From a gameplay standpoint, this looks like the classic, frantic Tribes action we remember, although vehicles are new. The fact that this game will be free to play when it launches is just an added bonus.

Now we’ve got the trailer for Tribes: Ascend, which you can watch below.
