Media Molecule Moving Away from LittleBigPlanet

Media Molecule have become critical and consumer darlings since their first effort on the PS3 with the original LittleBigPlanet. Their flair for creativity, the passion they bring with their ideas and the pure style behind their brand have made them a veritable titan in the game developing world.

And now they're moving on to something else entirely. LittleBigPlanet is being left for a new IP and a new set of ideas. What that entails, exactly, hasn't even entered the realm of discussion.

Edge Online has the Tweet that brought forth this news by way of Media Molecule's own Siobhan Reddy. Reddy put in plainly enough: "We're stepping away from LittleBigPlanet to focus on some new ideas."

Sony made Media Molecule a first party studio last year, thus securing platform exclusivity to its consoles. Media Molecule could very well be working on the next big, system selling IP for either the PS3 or the PS Vita.

Whatever it is, once news comes up for it will report back to you.
