To the best of my knowledge nobody's actually seen the failed Wonder Woman pilot that Adrianne Palicki starred in, but that sure as hell didn't stop anybody from saying that it sucked. Well, we've been spared that potential debacle but that hasn't stopped Palicki from fulfilling her dreams of heroism: she's just been cast as Lady Jaye in Jon M. Chu's sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Palicki joins such cast new cast members as Dwayne Johnson and The RZA in the sequel, which really is ramping up quickly. Most curious of all is that none of the new cast members seem to be replacing cast members from the original film, making us wonder what the heck will have happened to all of them. With a little luck they'll adapt Warren Ellis's brief animated series G.I. Joe: Resolute, in which one of the initial plot points was a deadly first assault by Cobra on G.I. Joe headquarters.
Lady Jaye, whom Hollywood Reporter describes as "the lead role," is a crossbow-wielding covert operations specialist with an ongoing romantic relationship with Flint, played by D.J. Cotrona in the upcoming film.
Crave Online will be back with more G.I. Joe 2 news after we pack our parachutes.
