It seemed for all the world that Marvel Studios had canceled any big plans for Comic Con this year, bowing out of the usual Hall H shenanigans (Hall H being where all the biggest movie panels are usually held). Now it seems that that… was a bit of an exaggeration. Marvel Studios indeed won't be having an official Avengers panel this year – despite being the toast of last year's Con – but will indeed have a presence on the show floor.
First Showing reveals that Marvel's plans for Comic Con are of the viral variety this year, which we have mixed feelings about. They plan to have actual set pieces from S.H.I.E.L.D. on the show floor, recruiting stations for S.H.I.E.L.D., and the teaser for the film might be showing at the Marvel booth. All very cool, and all guaranteeing that the Marvel booth will be so packed that seeing them might be a nigh-impossibility. Add to this the planned appearances of Avengers stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo and there's a good chance that the show floor is going to be a traffic jam of epic proportions.
Still… kinda cool though. And we're happy to be seeing something at least.
CRAVE Online will be back with more Comic Con news as the event ramps up!
