OK, it’s time to discuss the elephant in the room. My fellow collaborator and friend Joey Davidson did not enjoy Dragon Age 2 when he reviewed it for Crave. And the heart has not grown fonder over time, I can assure you. In fact, it’s grown more black and cold. So, he’s probably not interested in this news at all. But if you find yourself in the camp of people that did enjoy Dragon Age 2’s streamlined approach to the franchise, then you’ll be happy to know BioWare is planning DLC for the title.

The story-driven add-on is called “Legacy,” and will be available on all platforms on July 26 for 800 MS Points on Xbox 360, 800 BioWare Points on PC/Mac and $10 on the PSN. Outside a new side-story, the DLC will bring with it new weapons, armors, etc.

Here’s a little blurb about the DLC’s plot:

“Targeted by a vicious criminal cartel that are hunting "the blood of the Hawke," you must put an end to their relentless attacks. Leave Kirkwall, and journey to an ancient Grey Warden prison in order to find the source of the aggression and uncover the harsh truth about the Hawke lineage. Playable from any point in the DAII campaign, face all new darkspawn, forge a powerful new weapon and come face to face with an ancient horror.”

Finally, here’s the DLC’s first trailer and some screenshots. Enjoy!
