With every new piece of Superman casting the same thought comes to mind: "Man, he'd make a great Lex Luthor." But they're never playing Lex Luthor, are they? First Christopher Meloni, now this –  Harry Lennix has joined the cast of Man of Steel as… Wait for it… Sgt. Stanwick.

…Yeah, we have no idea either. But according to Hollywood Reporter, that's the role.

Although we have no doubt that Harry Lennix will make a great Sgt. Stanwick, not having any idea who or what that character is makes it a little difficult to report on this news. He could be a major player, but more likely he's just a character in a position of power who needs a powerful actor to sell that. Harry Lennix would certainly be that man. Lennix is one hard-working actor who brings gravitas to every role, be it his breakout performance in Julie Taymor's Titus, Commander Lock in the two Matrix sequels or his regular role on Joss Whedon's cult favorite Dollhouse. We also really liked him in Get On The Bus, but then everyone was great in Get On The Bus, weren't they?

CRAVE Online will return with more Man of Steel news. Say it with us: "LEX LU-THOR! LEX LU-THOR! LEX LU-THOR…!"
