Back at the tail end of June we let you guys (and gals) know that Activision was planning their first annual Call of Duty XP fan convention. The two day event held in Los Angeles, California on September 2nd and 3rd will play host to a massive 32-team single elimination Call of Duty tournament for $1 million and a paintball game set in a full-scale replica of The Pit. Oh, they also plan to host the multiplayer beta for Modern Warfare 3 at the event. You know, no biggie. But that’s just a taste of the Call of Duty-inspired events that will take place at the convention.
Today, Activision has sent out information in regards to when tickets are going on sale and for how much. Call of Duty fanatics will be able to buy their tickets starting on July 19, 2011 for $150 a pop from the event’s official website. You can buy a maximum of two tickets and you must be at least 18 years old to enter the event, so a photo ID will be required for entry.
So what does your $150 buy you? Well, it buys you full access to the event. The only thing you’ll need to spend extra money on is food and drinks. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Call of Duty Endowment fund, a non-profit organization that helps war veterans find jobs, establish careers and re-establish some balance to their lives.
If you’re interested in attending, make sure you bookmark the Call of Duty XP official website and check back to it on July 19th to get your tickets. Who knows how fast these things will be scooped up. In the meantime, you can check out the event map on the official site to get a sense of exactly how big this Call of Duty-inspired party will be.
