As the San Diego Comic-Con opens its doors, Activision has announced a few release dates for some of their biggest upcoming super-powered titles. First on the chopping block is Prototype 2, which will see launch on April 24, 2012. While that might seem far away, Activision has plans to release two major titles to tide you over until then. Silicon Knights’ X-Men Destiny will be hitting shelves of September 27, while Beenox will be releasing Spider-Man: Edge of Time on October 4, 2011.

We got a chance to check out all three titles this past June at E3, and while they were all in their early stages of development, each showed a lot of promise. This is especially true for Prototype 2, which looks to put right a lot of the problems we had with the original title. So mark your calendars for Activision’s upcoming super-powered bonanza.
