Is Philadelphia set for a Super Bowl run?

If you have to pick a winner out of this mass of free agent frenzy that the NFL has been the last week, then the Philadelphia Eagles would be that pick. Already a team that had SuperBowl potential, the Eagles have added some very nice additions in this limited offseason. They have landed Vince Young, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Jason Babin, Cullen Jenkins and have even managed to steal arguably the top free agent in this offseason, Nnamdi Asomugha.

Yeah, it's safe to say that the Eagles are the team to watch out for this season.

"It means a lot," Vick said of all of the free-agent signings. "It means what I try to bring to the table each and every Sunday guys respect, and that's a winning attitude, humbleness and always striving for success. I think they appreciate that, and they want the same thing, so we're going to get it done."

The sudden rise in attention to the Eagles thanks to this coup of signings has many comparing Philly to the NFL version of the Miami Heat. Even the players are acknowledging the talent level on the team as Jason Babin tweeted Saturday that "I feel like we are the Miami Heat of the NFL,".

The question is however, do the Eagles want that comparison?

"We'll take it," Vick said on Sunday of being compared to the Heat. "We'll take it. It's always a challenge, man, and that's the great part about it. When you try to accomplish something as a team, when you have to come together as one, it makes it special in the end.

"It's going to be a grind. It's not going to be easy. Nothing's going to be given to us and everybody's going to be gunning for us. But, we're ready."

Though this team wants to be compared to one of the most infamous yet top heavy talented NBA teams of all time, doing so would be a disservice to Philly. The Eagles are a deep and talented team on both sides of the ball and are poised to do what the Heat couldn't, win a Championship. But, like with all sports, it comes down to health. More specifically, Michael Vick's health and if he can stay on the field all season.

Philly signed a similar player in Vince Young to take the reigns if Vick falters, and Young is a very talented QB, but he isn't Vick…yet.

"Right now, I'm just going to be paying attention to him, listening, asking questions," Young said. "At the same time, I'm definitely going to be the best that I can be in order to push, because I want to see him be the best that he can be and help him lead this team to a Super Bowl."

It's easy to label to a team contenders before a snap is had but the fun begins when the real hitting begins.

And boy is watching these eagles this season going to be fun.
