‘Fringe’ Preview: Peter Bishop’s Return Hits A Snag

The St, Louis Cardinals aren't the only thing interfering with Peter's homecoming to the Fringe team.

If the theory of parallel worlds is correct, then there's an Earth out there in which the Texas Rangers didn't blow last night's World Series game and they closed out the St. Louis Cardinals in six games; thus allowing Fox to air its Friday night lineup unchanged.

Unfortunately, that's not the world that we live in. Therefore, the St. Louis Cardinals are alive for game seven tonight on Fox and the next new episode of "Fringe" has been pushed back to Friday, November 04.

If you find that frustrating, imagine how Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) feels. In the last few episodes of "Fringe," Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) and Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) both realized that they had experienced visions of Peter even though they had no idea who he was. Unknown to them, Peter was erased from existence after he used the Doomsday Device to join our Earth to the alternate Earth in a bid to save both worlds.

Now that Peter is mysteriously back on our world, no one has any memory of him because both of his counterparts in this timeline died as young boys. All the Fringe team knows is that Peter has far more information about their activities than he should. Which is why the next episode opens with Peter as a prisoner of the Fringe division.

Fox has released an extended preview of "Novation," the upcoming fifth episode of the fourth season of "Fringe." And from the brief glimpse of the episode, it's clear that Peter's first face-to-face meeting with the Walter of this timeline does not go well…

Don't miss Peter Bishop's return to "Fringe" on Friday, November 04!
