Updated Story: We're back in business. The "Horde Command Pack" is now officially available for download after a technical issue delayed the DLC's launch earlier this morning. So hop onto your 360s and get the pack now.

Original Story: Were you looking forward to downloading the “Horde Command Pack” DLC for Gears of War 3 today? Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I am: the add-on content has been delayed due to a “technical issue.”

Epic Games’ community manager has made a post on Epic’s official forums explaining the situation:

“The scheduled Horde Command Pack release for Gears of War 3 is temporarily delayed due to a technical issue. We apologize to those of you who are anxiously awaiting to play. We know this is disappointing news as we’ve seen a lot of posts today showing excitement for this content. We have folks working around the clock to resolve this issue ASAP so you can all play and enjoy the Command Pack.”

The “Horde Command Pack” is the first expansion (of four) scheduled to hit Gears of War 3 over the next year. The DLC includes three new multiplayer maps, new Horde Mode fortifications, and new character and weapon skins. The DLC will cost 800 MS Points, or will be free for Season Pass owners.

As of the time of this article’s posting, no new launch date has been confirmed for the DLC. Epic is supposedly working around the clock to get the kinks worked out, so hopefully we’ll have it rather soon.

We’ll update this story when we hear more, whether good or bad.
