Another month, another new game reveal on the cover of Game Informer. The publication has revealed the existence of Rainbow 6: Patriots, which graces the cover of the December issue of the magazine. The game is scheduled for a 2013 launch for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
“Terrorism has evolved, and so has Rainbow 6," said creative director David Sears to Game Informer. In Rainbow 6: Patriots, a terrorist group calling themselves the “True Patriots” attempt to overthrow the United States government and corporate America and restore their vision of what the country should be. This plot is what gets Team Rainbow involved, although the game will supposedly force players to ask themselves how far they’re willing to go to see the radical militia overthrown.
In addition to an “extremely tense and immersive experience” in single player, this new Rainbow 6 will introduce new tactical improvements to the standard Rainbow 6 formula. Developer Ubisoft Montreal is also planning to make Rainbow 6: Patriots’ multiplayer robust enough to go head-to-head with Call of Duty and Battlefield. To that we say, good luck!
To find out more about Rainbow 6: Patriots, you’re going to need to pick up the December issue of Game Informer, where they have a 12-page exclusive cover story on the newly-announced game. But until it becomes available, bide time by looking at the issue’s pretty covers below.
