The folks over at Penny Arcade have once again teamed up with a major gaming publisher to bring a beloved gaming franchise to life in the realm of comics. This time we’re talking about Nintendo and The Legend of Zelda in preparation for the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword this coming Sunday, November 20, 2011.

Starting today, the first of five weekly comic pages will be posted on www.zelda.com/skywardsword/comic. To tie the comic more closely to the game, Penny Arcade artist Mike Krahulik even adapted his art style to more closely resemble the design style of the upcoming Skyward Sword game.

Here’s the webcomic’s first page if you’re too lazy to click the above link:

“I was 14 when I first played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past,” said Mike Krahulik. “That was 20 years ago, and today I am introducing my son to The Legend of Zelda. The opportunity to work with Nintendo to create a Zelda comic is not only an incredible honor, but quite literally a childhood dream come true.”

Don’t forget to check back to the above web page every Tuesday for the next four weeks to see how the comic concludes. And if the story winds up failing to captivate, at least it’s beautiful art to ogle over.

We'll also have our full review of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword by week's end. So stay tuned to CraveOnline.
