If you've been reading Jennifer Blood by Garth Ennis, a book about a suburban mother who moonlights as a gory vigilante, then you'll be happy to see that it's getting a spin-off in the form of karate chicks in schoolgirl outfits. That's The Ninjettes, a new series written by Al Ewing, who Ennis has tapped to take over Blood.
"Ninjettes is where I get to look at some of the classic exploitation tropes," says Ewing. "Hopefully I will twist them into something that appeals to a broad spectrum of readers, while remaining a rich, raw, red slab of bleeding meat torn straight from the mooing flank of pop culture, given a gun and told to go out and kill! Kill! KILL!"
What's the deal with these new Ninjettes? What's the connection between the death-dealing Varla and college student Kelly Hara? Whatever's going on, it's gonna be bloody and crazy.
Here's a look at the covers for Ninjettes #1 from Admira Wijaya and Johnny Desjardins, featuring some interior work from series artist Eman Casallos.
