"You just can't kidnap a guy and take his things… That is SO illegal!"

Well, now we know what a low-budget Michael Bay movie looks like: pretty much exactly like all of his other movies, with lots of bikini babes and brawny guys and weirdo humor, just with fewer robots and car chases. But the new trailer for Pain & Gain, Bay's first film since 1995's Bad Boys (and also his very first movie) to cost less than $75 million, also looks pretty danged good. Mark Wahlberg stars as a bodybuilder who's seen "a lot of movies," and decides to kidnap a millionaire to break himself out of financial ruin, along with his two friends Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Dwayne Johnson. We're digging the cast's chemistry, The Rock's naive vulnerability and the energy that Bay is giving a familiar movie conceit, the kidnapping gone awry.
