Two of Winnipeg's biggest film companies are merging into one – Midcanada Production Services and Frantic Films are becoming FRANK Digital.

Frank will now be the province's most comprehensive, fully HD production house with more than 10,000 square feet of audio and video post-production facilities, providing services for international film and television along with web design and multimedia. Their post production services include 14 HD/SD edit suites, colour timing, captioning, down-conversion, descriptive video, visual effects/animation, duplication and multi-format transfer. Frank also has Manitoba's only Dolby Certified 5.1 digital audio mixing theatre and print master facility featuring 14' ceilings and a Heintzman grand piano as well as multiple pro-tools suites available for recording, editing, mixing and ADR.Together, the combined teams have worked with a number of high-calibre clients including Cadbury-Kraft, Huggies, The Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Coca-Cola's NOS Energy Drink, Oreck, and the Canadian Curling Association.

“Although we were technically competitors, Frantic and MidCan have collaborated on several projects in the past, including the CentrePlace Manitoba interactive pavilion for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, and a new web-series called 'WindCity,'” said Chris McIvor, FRANK’s Chief Executive Officer and former Operations Manager at Midcan, in an official release. “We started discussing the results of our collaborations, the advantages of our combined talents and resources and, well, one thing led to another.”
