Tuesday night, October 15th, starting at 8:00 PM, PBS will air their three-hour documentary about the creation, evolution and longevity of the concept of the superhero, appropriately entitled Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle. The doc will also be released on DVD and blu-ray on the same day.

Narrated by the inimitable Liev Schreiber and featuring a lot of interviews with seminal comic creators and moviemakers, the first hour will focus on The Golden Age of 1938-1958, the second on The Silver Age of 1959-1977, and the third from 1978-now. Sounds like it's definitely worth a watch. Plus, it's PBS. You're gonna learn something.
