The word from the doctor is in: Kobe Bryant is out for the remainder of the season.

A torn rotator cuff was surgically repaired but has stuck the NBA star with nine months of recovery. For the third season, an injury has sidelined Bryant. The team has made a point of stating that it is not believed this event is signaling retirement. They fully expect him to return for the 2015-2016 season.
