Last week Crave brought you the first episode of our new partner project with world-renowned skate hero Manny Santiago, a kickass video series called “Live & Learn”. Fans were granted an inside-access look at Manny’s adventures in his everyday life as the pro boarder and his crew grabbed some boards & cameras, headed to Puerto Rico and cruised around San Juan, Juana Diaz and Aibonito looking for good skate spots around the island.
The adventure continues today with Episode 2, titled “Giving Back,” in which Manny and the crew give back to the community in Puerto Rico. They visit El Circo radio station and have some laughs with El Gangster before heading to a PACSUN signing at the Plaza Las Americas in San Juan where they’re greeted by smiling fans.
The episode then travels to the Luzia Boys and Girls Club where Manny anxiously awaits the arrival of their Big Donation from OC ramps. It’s clear that he’s deeply invested in making these kids’ lives brighter, and when Sheldon arrives just in time, the relief is palpable. Manny and the crew are rewarded with love and enthusiasm from the local kids and Boys and Girls club team.
A Puerto Rico native, Manny Santiago has moved his maniacally intense street skills to the sunshine of Los Angeles, turning pro in 2011 and leaning into success with an adventurer’s heart. Paying his dues while rapidly ascending the skate world ranks, he dominated the 2013 Select Series and continues to show his ferocity as a competitor and innovator on wheels.
In the words of close friend and filmer, Spanish Mike, “Manny is also no stranger to competition he has a win under his belt in one the most competitive contests ever. The Crossroads Best Trick event which had every pro skater present, so don’t let the gap tooth smile fool you, the kid means business.”
