Comedy hero Chris Rock is set to visit Sydney next month to launch his new film Top Five, which he wrote, directed and stars in. Top Five will be released in cinemas on March 12th.

It tells the story of New York City comedian-turned-film star Andre Allen, played by Chris Rock, whose unexpected encounter with a journalist (Rosario Dawson) forces him to confront his questionable comedy career, life and marriage. Top Five has already been celebrated as a critical success in reviews thus far.

The film also features an all star cast including Tracy Morgan, Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union, Cedric The Entertainer, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and “Saturday Night Live”‘s Jay Pharaoh, Michael Che and Leslie Jones.

Further bolstering its credentials, Top Five is produced by Scott Rudin and Eli Bush with co-producers Jay Z and Kanye West. The Roots’ Questlove is on board as the film’s Executive Music Producer.
