The annual UK event Bestival, which always takes place at the Isle of Wight, will put on its first international event in Toronto.

“We have waited 12 years to decide to launch another Bestival outside the UK,” said organiser and Radio 1 DJ, Rob da Bank (according to the BBC). “Our beloved Besitval has grown into one of the most important festivals in the global calendar. It took a really special city, and an even more exciting site, with Toronto and Toronto Island, to make us take the leap. So, the waiting is over and we are so excited to be launching in North America in June, with a classic Bestival line-up waiting to thrill, intrigue and party. We cannot wait.”

Bestival, which has been going on for 12 years, This year’s installment will feature the music of The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, and Duran Duran, to name just a few. There will also be other features to the fest, including 24-hour free haircuts, a zombie love-in, psychedelic woodland adventures (huh?), and total mind-altering escapism.

The Bestival event in Toronto will take place on Toronto Island June 12-13. No performers have been announced yet, however you can register online for updates and news.
